Mile High Raw cares about the quality of ingredients used in your canine’s natural raw dog food diet. We distribute Denver dog food products at a fair price. In addition, we have fed our pack raw dog food blends for 17 years. Our raw dog food journey started with Colorado’s Top Dog, Jasmine, and her constant ear infections and skin problems. It was to the point that our western veterinarian recommended having her put under anesthesia to have them cleaned out. Moving Jasmine from dry food (kibble) to a raw diet alleviated these issues quickly without anesthesia. As a result, many clients find us when their dog has health issues and they’ve exhausted other routes to resolve the symptoms. Others are merely interested in the benefits of feeding their dog raw food. Raw diets are a direct evolution of what dogs ate before the invention of processed pet food. It’s their ancestral diet. Furthermore, it’s instinctual for them to eat a prey diet.
Roughly 15000 years ago, the dog was domesticated from the wolf. They still share most of their DNA with them. Therefore, canines are naturally optimized to consume raw meat. Their jaws are designed to gulp and hinge open to swallow chunks of bone and flesh. Also, their saliva is mainly a lubricant to assist in gulping. Their digestive tract is short, and their stomach is acidic — all signs of a carnivore.
